I just had to comment about the woman who in an apparently first weekend with a new lover said that they "mostly used condoms".

While I can't know what really happens in hotel rooms across America, that largely describes what I have seen as a swinger for the past decade. In public, swinging couples (with very few exceptions) assert that their firm, fast rule is condom use 100% of the time. But do an anonymous poll and the majority admit that they sometimes play without condoms. And if you speak to them privately without their spouses knowledge, the number go up even further (since the spouse can often see what they voted on a poll).

My own experiences in this pro-condom community, is that if I play with a woman with her husband in the room, she loudly insists she always uses condoms. If I play with a woman with her husband not present (or a single woman), the woman usually asks for bareback...or skips the asking part and just jumps on without a condom.

I can only conclude from this that, as a group, we humans don't like condoms and are much more cavalier about their usage than our public rhetoric would suggests.

If swingers don't faithfully use condoms--WHO DOES?

thanks for the input, Michael.

And a comment to the woman who has enjoyed exploring her BDSM side...

A few years ago, I began exploring my dominant side with a submissive partner. While that partner and I are no longer together, I've enjoyed Dom/sub play with some subsequent partners since that time. The experience has usually been incredibly HOT....

...but my experience, and that I've heard from other friends who engage in BDSM or D/s play is that for MOST people, it does not work that well as a daily diet. There are 24/7 Master/slave relationships that seem to work, but those seem to be very much in the minority. I find that a certain limiting of the more extreme forms of play to occasional (maybe once a week, however often it works for you), seems to help keep it fresh and exciting, while also giving opportunity for a more well rounded sexual life, that includes more egalitarian play.

How do I know if I have crabs?

I couldn't agree more! You hit the nail right on the head when you said make an appointment for a STD test!
